Heyup to all members, I've just read the whole diaries for the canal restoration thread, it's taken me most of the day and I have thoroughly enjoyed it all. What a fantastic undertaking by the volunteers and work parties. I'm so impressed at the levels of dedication and what has been achieved so far. I'm a regular Norfolk Broads user with my own (Restored) Boat based at Stalham 'Broad Ambition' The last time I ventured up the canal was in October 2001 I took a dinghy trip from Wayford Bridge and got as far as Honing Lock (Photo). From what I've been reading I would things have now somewhat improved. I'm so jealous I cannot help out with the work parties, problem is that I live 160m away up here outside Doncaster, I could at a push Bring 'B.A' to Wayford bridge, or even to Honing Lock, water depth permitting and walk from there? Fantastic project and well done to all concerned. Griff Attachments:

Under the heading of the NW&D Canal it states that this waterway is the only officially accepted canal on the Broads. Somewhat confused here as I know that there are three others one of which is in use, the 'New Cut' is a canal that joins Reedham and St Olaves. Then there is the derelict section between Geldestone Locks and Bungay on the waveney, and lastly the Bure up river from Coltishall to Ayelsham.

Just read the work party diaries for 21st Feb. Nice to see yet more progression, even if the weather did curtail the days efforts. The NBF forum - some members are assuming this waterway is to be eventually opened up for canoes, dinghy's and the like. I get the impression from the amount of work and progression on the NW&D Canal that the team have far more ambitious plans Griff

I, too, enjoy reading all about the work party exploits. I live only a mile from the canal, and wish I could join in, but ill health does not allow me that privilege. I note, however, that recently the reports are being published later and later, the May 9th Bacton Lock session still missing. I am suffering withdrawal symptons! Since you are all dedicated. hard working souls, there must be a very good reason for the delay. Please publish as and when you can, thanks.

I've recently been unable to access the work party reports. All other aspects of the site appear to be working, but every time I click on the "Work Party" heading, I get a blank page. Is this a general problem with other people, or is it just me? I'd like to add that I think the progress that has been made over this last couple of years has been amazing - keep it up, folks!
